When used properly, a zoned heating and cooling system can substantially increase your quality of life at home, as well as save you money.
You see, a basic, non-zoned heating system controls the temperature of the entire home as a whole. A zoned heating system, by contrast, allows you to control the temperature of each zone individually, thereby maximizing comfort and minimizing energy costs.
For example, if one of your zones is a mostly-vacant guest area, you can choose to keep it unheated, and to turn up the heat ONLY when it’s being used.
(While this is just one example, it’s worth noting that a properly designed and properly used heating and cooling zoning system inherently uses less energy than a basic system.)
